Montreal Canadiens sign with forwards Connor Crisp and Daniel Carr
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the signing of forward Connor Crisp to a three-year contract (2014-15 to 2016-17). The Club also announced the signing of free agent forward Daniel Carr to a two-year contract (2014-15 and 2015-16).
In 67 games with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves in 2013-14, Crisp collected 55 points (28 goals, 27 assists). Eight of his tallies came on the powerplay and he added two winning goals while displaying a +11 plus/minus differential. The 6’03’’ and 226 lbs forward led his team with 120 penalty minutes. He concluded his season with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, where he recorded two goals in seven games.
Crisp, 20, registered 97 points (55 goals, 42 assists) and served 308 penalty minutes in 184 contests since his junior debut in 2010-11. He suited up for the OHL’s Erie Otters prior to joining the Wolves.
A native of Alliston, Ontario, Crisp was selected in the third round, 71st overall by the Canadiens at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Carr appeared in 39 games with the ECAC’s Union College Dutchmen in 2013-14 (NCAA), leading his team in scoring with 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) and seven power play goals. He added 141 shots, two winning tallies and a +26 differential. Carr, 22, helped his team capturing their first NCAA National Championship title, producing five assists and 21 shots on goal in four games in the tournament.
The 6’ and 195 lbs forward recorded 157 points (78 goals, 79 assists) in 160 contests at the college level, from 2010-11 to 2013-14.
A native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Carr also played with the St. Albert Steel in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in 2007-08 and 2008-09, as well as with the Powell River Kings in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2009-10.
